About Me

I am an author, writing consultant, speaker, writing instructor and freelance writer with over 25 years’ experience in the publishing industry. I am the author of, The Writer's Digest Guide to Magazine Article Writing and the creator of The Book Marketing Lab.

In addition, I have published 24 other books, including four series’ with co-author Chuck Harrelson, under the pen names, C.G. Harris.

Currently I am the Content & Community Manager for Booklinker.com. Booklinker is a free tool that helps authors get their books in front of their readers around the world. 

​

My articles and essays have appeared in publications and anthologies including Writer's Digest, Alaska Magazine, The Writer, FamilyFun, and six Chicken Soup for the Soul books.

​

I was the founder of Northern Colorado Writers, and led the group for ten years, along with organizing the annual writing conference and retreat. In addition I've been a writing conference coordinator through Writer's Digest, Writing Day Workshops and the Wordsmith Institute.

 

Over the years, I have worked with hundreds of authors through classes and individual consultations. My background in teaching, and enjoyment of helping writers has led me to present at writing conferences across the country and teach continuing studies classes through Stanford University.

When I am not writing I enjoy spending time with family & friends, fly-fishing and enjoying the beautiful Colorado outdoors.
