Kerrie Flanagan is a professional freelance writer whose 100+ articles
have appeared in various magazines including FamilyFun, SkyWest,
Chicago Tribune and Woman's World. She is a contributing editor for Journey Magazine,
a Fort Collins magazine for women. Her monthly column ran for two years in the Fort
Collins Coloradoan.
Her touching and humorous stories can be found in Chicken Soup for
the Caregivers Soul, Christian Soul 2, and Mother and Son Soul.
Kerrie is also a writing instructor and publicist. She has put together three writing programs to teach at libraries and other venues that are wanting to support and educate up and coming writers. Click here to read about the writing programs.
Her passion is
to guide writers in their pursuit to become successful writers. It is because of this passion that she started the Northern Colorado Writers , a group devoted to supporting and encouraging writers to reach their full potential. The annual Northern Colorado Writers Conference, will be April 3-4th, 2009, at the Fort Collins Hilton.
As a publicist she is currently working with award-winning authors, Debbie Dadey,and Victoria Hanley. She is seeking other authors who need help marketing their books.
She is also the author of the educational children's book, Cornelius Comma Saves The Day and the creator of a Writing Planner for writers.

What I am currently reading: Into Thin Air
 
I
am going to spend the next couple of couple of blog entries focusing on
Memoirs because it is a very hot genre right now. During our monthly Northern Colorado Writers coffee,
1/3 of the 12 writers present, are writing memoirs. I figured with the
whole James Frey and Margaret Seltzer fiasco's, the publishing world
would be sprinting in the opposite direction of this genre. Apparently
that's not the case.
